    Quality: All 3D-Fuel 3D printer filament is manufactured in our own production facility located in Fargo, North Dakota or in Moville, Ireland (depending on customer location). We have complete control over the manufacturing process and are able to ensure consistent quality for every spool.

    Diameter Tolerance: Variable diameter can cause big problems in your 3D printer. We use a multi-axis laser measurement system to control our filament diameter and ovality in real time during production. Every spool has the diameter and ovality measurements listed right on the box.

    Packing Information: A full 1kg (2.2lbs) of Fire Engine Red Pro PLA plastic filament arrives on an easy-to-use plastic reel and is vacuum sealed with a desiccant packet to keep out any moisture.

    Test Printing: The 3D-Fuel test lab features multiple brands of 3D printers including Raise3D, MakerBot, LulzBot, FlashForge, and more. We 3D print what we manufacture to ensure that our filament provides the absolute best quality possible.

    Pro PLA is engineered and designed specifically with 3D printing in mind. Pro PLA was designed with the high impact strength needed in industrial applications to meet the growing demand by companies for a material with the properties of ABS, but the printability of PLA. Without any annealing/heat treating, Pro PLA displays impact strength levels at 8 times that of standard PLA and 1.5 times that of ABS. Annealing Pro PLA gives it over 12x the impact strength of standard PLA and over twice that of ABS. Even before post-processing, Pro PLA exhibits significantly higher impact strength than ABS.

    Recommended Print Settings: Extruder Temp: 210-240C (varies by printer) 
    Heated Bed Temp: 0-60C (heated bed not required) 
    Bed Surface: Bare acrylic, blue painters tape + hairspray, glass + hairspray, BuildTak (or similar bed surface), PEI (with heated bed @ 45-60C) - PrintBite

    Annealing Info (heat treating):  How to Anneal Pro PLA

    Annealing (Heat Treating) Information

    To get the maximum strength out of your 3D printed part, we recommend a post- annealing procedure that could be done in your oven at a range of 176-266F (80- 130C) to promote increased crystallization and further improve the heat deflection temperature.

    For best results:

    1. Preheat the oven or toaster oven.
    2. Place print on room temperature baking sheet.
    3. Place baking sheet into oven/toaster oven.
    4. Wait 30-60 minutes for annealing to complete
      1. You may see the print take on a milky/matte/opaque colour transformation.
    5. Turn the oven off.
    6. Wait for oven to cool before removing print.

    Shrinkage and/or warping may occur. The degree of shrinkage/warping depends heavily on the part geometry.
